Holidays & Days Out

Here’s a summary of what’s on offer to the end of 2013, including an example of one of our day trips.  Please contact us if you are interested in details of our special Shetland Wildlife trip, 28th June – 4th July.  If you can’t find what you’re looking for, contact us for other day trips and bespoke breaks.  Do visit the Welsh Wildlife Breaks website again  – we’ll be adding to our schedules at regular intervals throughout the year.

Gwent Levels / Severn Estuary

Famous for intertidal mudflats, reed beds and mistletoe, the Gwent Levels offer amazing wildlife, like this reed bunting.  Habitat for otters and water voles, you may just be lucky enough to spot one.  Close by are woodlands, reservoirs and the beautiful Wye Valley, with their own abundant wildlife.

West Wales and Welsh Islands

Skomer Island – green cliffs burgeon with puffins, ledges packed with guillemots and razorbills, stacks of kittiwakes, and the unbelievable noise and spectacle of thousands of nocturnal shearwaters.  Grassholm Island and its gannets, seafaring shearwaters, Ramsey Island, home to peregrine, chough, lapwing and deer.  The lovely Teifi Estuary with Cardigan island standing sentry, and moving north there is the wonderful coastline and the famous dolphins of Cardigan Bay.  Further north still is the Dyfi Estuary at Ynys Hir, the new home of Springwatch, and close by are the Dyfi ospreys.  What an amazing wealth of experiences!
